Union Hospital CALL CENTER SPECIALIST-UAP CALL CENTER in TERRE HAUTE, Indiana
The Call Center Specialist works under the direct supervision of the Call Center manager. The position exists to support the healthcare team in providing and assisting the patient with his/her care needs in collaboration with all healthcare providers. Job Duties include answering incoming phone calls in a timely and efficient manner, schedules and coordinates appointments in the practice management system for patients and clinical staff, verifies patient insurance information, and registers new patients in the practice management system. In addition will provide information, directions and any other assistance to physicians, patient, family customers and vendors.
Must be able to pass a typing test.
· Functional grasp of standard written and verbal English
· Ability to work efficiently/effectively in a fast paced sometimes stressful working environment
· Proficient computer and typing skills
· Requires special attention to detail
· Knowledge of medical terminology helpful
· Must be accountable, self-directed, and possess great interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Must exhibit compassionate and caring skills
· Must be able to set priorities and manage a high workload within a limited time for completion
· Must be have ability to organize tasks and attend to details
· Must be able to maintain concentration when subjected to frequent and varied interruptions and variable noise levels
· Possess excellent relationship skills & possess a teamwork attitude
· Must be willing to learn and become proficient in current tasks and skills as assigned as well as new that are included within the job description.
