The Miller College of Business offers more than a dozen undergraduate majors, as well as several graduate degrees and certificates. The College has grown to over 3,200 students housed within six departments: Accounting, Economics, Finance and Insurance, Information Systems and Operations Management, Management, and Marketing. The dean is responsible forplanning, directing, and coordinatingthe operational, personnel, budgetary,fundraising, and student activities ofthe college and providing leadershipand direction in the developmentand implementation of curricula andacademic programming. The dean isexpected to foster interdisciplinarycollaborations within the collegeand across campus, promote opencommunication, and facilitate strategicplanning and goal development acrossthe academic departments and unitsin unison with the campus s broaderstrategic plan. The dean will serve as a visible andexternal advocate for the Miller Collegeof Business, both on campus andwithin the community, to sustain anddeepen partnerships and generatenew streams of revenue to supportthe teaching, research, and servicegoals of the school. In partnershipwith the president, provost, andleadership team, the dean will engagethe college in a collaborative, inclusiveplanning process to execute a sharedacademic vision and strategic planthat aligns with AACSB accreditationstandards. MINIMUM EDUCATION Earned doctorate in an appropriate field from an accredited institution of higher learning. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE Demonstrated successful experience in academic administration within an accredited buines school; evidence of successful teaching in higher education; evidence of scholarly and professional achievement that will merit a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of professor within the college. MINIMUM OTHER Deep understanding and knowledgeof student recruitment, enrollment andretention, innovative programmingand experiential learning, and facultyrecruitment and development.
