Primary responsibilities include teaching a variety of skills-based courses in the Intensive English Institute (reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, etc.) and advising IEI students. Please note that applications will remain active until January 8, 2020. Therefore, if you apply for this position, you may not hear from the IEI until there is a need to hire an instructor to teach a specific course. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or closely related field, or MA in addition to an ESL certification, language teaching/education coursework, or language teaching experience; high level of English language proficiency; at least two years of experience teaching at the college or university level. AUTHORIZATION TO WORK IN THE US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Second Language Acquisition (SLA) or closely related field by date of appointment; experience in curriculum revision and design; experience with project-based learning and teaching.computer competency; ability to work as part of a team; willingness to learn and adapt to departmental expectations.
