Job Purpose & Responsibilities Job Purpose

To implement, monitor and continuously improve the MTV Process Safety Management System. To coordinate and participate in Process safety Management (PSM) efforts at the site, including PHAs, PSM audits, Process Safety training, and investigations.. Provide technical expertise to operating units to evaluate risks and cost-effectively resolve PSM issues.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide leadership, counsel, training and technical assistance in the field of process safety management to attain production, quality, cost, safety and environmental goals.

  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (most importantly, leading indicators) to track the progress of PSM on regular basis.

  • Provide oversight and audits for Process Safety Management elements

  • Lead PHA/hazard evaluations and provide leadership in determining the necessary risk mitigation for an accident scenario during PHAs/HAZOPs, or as a stand-alone task.

  • Lead incident investigations / root cause analyses.

  • Monitor and maintain compliance to regulatory RMP and PSM requirements.

  • Communicate and cooperate with SABIC Global EHSS, Americas EHSS and other sites PSM Leaders.

Scope

  • Understanding of Process Safety fundamentals, requirements and advancements.

  • Ability to guide team members for best technical output and its effective execution.

  • Implementation of major process safety improvement ideas & industry best practices in the plant to eliminate process safety incidents and achieve target PSIR, PSTR.

  • Support the development of a Process Safety culture.

Requirements Requirements

Education and Training

  • Bachelor of Engineering with chemical operations experience

  • Excellent in communication and analytical problem solving.

  • Strong Leadership, Decision making and Management Skills.

Preferred:

  • Technically proficient in all areas of process safety and loss prevention

  • Bachelor of Chemical Engineering

Experience

  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience

  • Experience in handling Process safety related activities like leading HAZOP studies, incident investigation

  • Knowledge of risk assessment Methodologies, PHA techniques, Quantitative Risk Assessment and ALARP.

  • Experience in Plant operations, Process & Technical support experience in Chemical Industry
