Qualifications
The Additive Manufacturing Sintering Specialist will be responsible for investigating and developing sintering parameters on new Binder Jet technology platform for new materials (ferrous and nonferrous) and geometries in collaboration with Design Specialists, Process Specialists, and Materials Specialists. The candidate will attend and support regular project meetings and presentations and support the writing of summary reports, will develop and maintain project schedules in support of deliverables, operate additive manufacturing equipment including (but not limited to) binder jet printer, depowdering unit, sieve station, sintering furnace. The candidate will also operate materials analysis equipment including (but not limited to) metallographic sample preparation and property testing equipment. The candidate will execute structured experiments to define material properties and identify build limitations, provide technical substantiation for developed standards, document experimental plans and results supported with modeling as required, will support the installation, commissioning and operation of additive manufacturing equipment, will develop and maintain material specifications and will work closely with others to optimize parts to leverage additive technology. The candidate will also ensure all safety requirements are met when operating equipment, handling materials and working with parts.
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/ Aerospace/Computer/Computer Science or equivalent) from an ABET accredited university
Strong background and experience in sintering of powdered metals (powder metallurgy, metal injection molding, binder jet sintering, hot isostatic pressing, etc.)
Must be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment focused on innovation and have demonstrated both verbal and written communication skills
Strong presentation, planning, problem solving, organizational, project management and decision-making skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Material Engineering from an ABET accredited university
Internship and/or research experience, particularly in additive manufacturing/and powder metallurgy/sintering
Experience with CAD, particularly those used in additive manufacturing
Experience with Siemens design software
