Aerotek Technician in Indianapolis, Indiana

Description:

This individual will be working outside for an environmental company on the Geotechnical and Construction Inspection side of their business.

Drilling Crew:

This work will include assisting the Driller in operating the auger drill, collecting geotechnical data and soil sampling.

Construction Inspection:

This individuals primary role is soil density testing. They will use a Nuclear Density Gauge to test the soil compaction of dirt. The machine itself weights 50-75lbs, so they will be responsible for handling and care of this machine. While using this machine an individual must be able to hammer a metal stake into the ground. Those familar with the machine will have no problem doing this. Individual will also test other construction material(Concrete and Asphalt). They will be traveling to various clients getting samples and making sure overall quality is in tact. This role will also include reading and understand construction specifications. These working documents hold the information as to what soil compaction percentage needs to be met. This will vary from project to project.

Hours:

M-F with a start time ranging from 5-7am and lasting for a 10-12 hour day. Saturday work is possible but rare. When they are out of town working they will work 45-55+ hours per week. This opportunity is at a minimum a 40 hour work week with 5-20 OT hours a week.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

-Must have outside working experience in either construction or the Environmental field.

-Must be willing to Travel. There is the potential for heavy local travel, staying out of town in a hotel throughout the week. Individuals must be flexible with the travel piece.

-Must be able to lift 75+lbs independently.

-Must have valid drivers license.
