ConvaTec Medical Documentation Specialist in Indianapolis, Indiana
Purpose: To provide administrative support to the teams by processing medical documentation, verifying insurance policies, and obtaining prior authorizations needed to set up and maintain clients of 180 Medical
Review and approve required documentation to meet Medicare standards
Verify Insurance Coverage of all prospects and obtain prior authorization when required
Make entries as appropriate in Medtrack; an internal Microsoft Access database
Support Team Leader on misc. projects
Scanning, faxing, and uploading all types of documentation
Cross flow pertinent information with assigned team members
Qualifications and Requirements:
High School diploma required; college degree preferred.
Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Typing: 35-40 wpm with 40 (adjusted) highly recommended
Possess strong administrative skills
Good communication skills with professionals in clinics and hospitals
Ability to reason and problem solve
Effectively multi-task a variety of issues and adapt to changing priorities as needed.
Excellent organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Familiar with Adobe Acrobat Reader
Good attention to detail
Flexible and adaptable to changes in environment and industry
Team Player; work well with others
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move about the facility.
Infrequent light physical effort required.
Occasional lifting under 10 lbs.
