Career Opportunity

Currently seeking Maintenance Technician Trainee (2 nd or 3 rd shift) for our Maintenance Department. Starting Pay $21.00. Full Health Benefits after 30 days of employment.

How you will impact WestRock

  • Learns to perform mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance of manufacturing equipment.



    • Learns to paint and perform minor repairs of building interior and exterior including masonry, wallboard, ceiling tiles, woodwork, etc.


    • Maintains the interior and exterior of the building including woodwork and replacing ceiling tiles.
  • Learns tooperate machine tools such as lathes, grinders, drill presses, and mills to repair or fabricate machine parts and/or fixtures.


    • Maintains accurate maintenance records.
  • Supports various recycling programs such as light bulbs, batteries, and metals.




    • Assists facility technicians and machine repair technicians on projects.
  • Learns to perform facility repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Learns to perform plumbing repairs and runs air lines.
  • Uses grounds equipment to remove snow and ice.Assists with other grounds tasks as needed.

    • Learns to maintain inventories of items such as steel, paint, filter, and belts.


    • Must be willing to travel.Trainee will spend time training at other facilities.
  • Must be willing to relocate when a permanent position comes available
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

* What you need to succeed *

  • Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must have a working knowledge of AC/DC motors.
  • Must be trained in basic electric and mechanical safety.
  • Must be willing to travel.Trainee will spend time training at other facilities.
  • Must be open to relocation.
  • Must learn to read schematics, prints, ladder diagrams, and drawings.
  • Must learn to interpret national electrical code.
  • Must acquire a working knowledge of various sensors, hand and small power tools, AC/DC motors, and of programming computers and PLCs.
  • Must have the ability to meet and/or pass the minimum requirement on a mechanical test or have demonstrated mechanical aptitude through prior work experience.
  • Must have some basic computer experience.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the safe use of hand and small power tools.
  • Must pass color vision and color hue tests.
  • Must be able to maintain good attendance.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed and during busy periods overtime may be excessive.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
