Indianapolis Motor Speedway IMS Safety Patrol College Experience, 2021 Season in Indianapolis, Indiana

The IMS Safety Patrol College Experience team member will be an extension of the IMS Guest Experience department, working in a variety of hospitality and operational event roles, designed to serve facility guests and enhance their experience.
DURATION OF POSITION: May 2021 (select public days)
Work in hospitality or event operations roles and provide outstanding guest service with other Guest Experience staff.
Shifts are available in the following Guest Experience divisions:
Stands & Mounds: assist guests with finding their seats and resolve guest issues in the grandstands
Gates: welcome guests into the facility by selling or scanning tickets at the exterior gates
Garage & Pits: work in race-related areas and perform credential checks, garage bag checks, wayfinding assistance, and customer service to both guests and teams (previous College Program experience required)
Traffic: direct vehicular and guest traffic and park cars inside the facility
Suites: work in most of our premium areas and enforce credentials and tickets around those areas
Transportation: assist with ADA transportation needs for our guests on major event days
Outside Parking: sell parking, direct guests within the lot, and ultimately guide them to their parking space
Report daily updates to the team of any issues or problems that arise.
Work on IMS grounds during events.
With the Guest Experience team, help provide support for all IMS activities.
Develop and maintain outstanding working relationships with coworkers, guests, and supervisors.
Assisting with event set-up and tear down may be requested.
Expectation to be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
There will be exposure to the weather elements in our outdoor environment.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).
Staff will complete daily responsibilities within their assigned division. These duties will vary based on area of work
Staff will receive a schedule based on the event day and their assigned division. Report times will vary, but everyone is expected to be clocked in by the time listed on their schedule
Staff will be in constant communication via phone/text/radio with coworkers, IMS Staff to keep updated on any and all problems/situations that may arise
- This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Currently enrolled in an accredited college / university is preferred.

Required ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends & holidays during assigned days of work.

GMR Grand Prix: 5/14 – 5/15
I500 Practice Days: 5/18 – 5/21
I500 Qualifications: 5/22 – 5/23
Carb Day: 5/28
Legends Day: 5/29
I500 Race Day: 5/30
Other dates as determined appropriate
Candidate must be able to work overtime as needed

Physical demands consist primarily of standing and walking.
