Global Procurement Talent Development and Communication Lead

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

Contract length: 3 months with possible extension

We are currently looking for an experienced professional to lead Procurement function talent development initiatives, as well as internal and external communication.

The successful candidate will assume the full ownership of the Procurement function talent development program, also work closely with the Procurement leadership team, Accelerated Rotation Program and HR team to actively recruit, retain and rotate our talents across positions. S/he is required to develop and deliver internal and external communication strategies and implementation planning for the function. S/he must be able to develop strong relationship with key stakeholders within and external to the organization as an essential success factor in leading/consulting on change management workstreams for Procurement-led projects and promoting the Procurement brand throughout. In addition, s/he will have primary ownership of the content and use of the internal SharePoint site and Supplier Portal on the external website.

Key activities may include:

  • Demonstrate abilities to develop and implement Procurement Talent Management Playbook, manage the function’s Learning and Development program and process efficiently.

  • Identify, investigate, and recommend external development resources. Lead a global virtual team to monitor platform/regional developmental needs and maintain global delivery of development opportunities within the function.

  • Work closely with Accelerated Rotation Program team. Counsel and advise new hires as needed for the function.

  • Lead the new employee onboarding program.

  • Develop function’s communication strategies and drive projects from inception to implementation, with the ability to think and plan strategically while acting tactically. Develop work plans and actively manage timelines and resources to achieve agreed upon business objectives

  • Develop speeches, presentations, written communications, and talking points to be used internally and externally by the head of Procurement and the senior leadership team.

  • Plan and execute the logistics and content for all major events, e.g., Town Hall meetings, Leadership summit, Supplier summit.

  • Serve as liaison with functions like Corporate Communication and External Affairs to ensure adherence to brand standards and company policies. Become the Procurement’s Brand Ambassador.

  • Serve as the “content curator” for the function’s intranet site and advise users on how to optimize the collaboration potential of SharePoint and other OS tools. In addition, serve as the Procurement representative to HR to monitor and oversee changes, campaigns, and implementations impacting the function.

  • Maintain and update the Supplier Center on the external corporate web site.

  • Lead the change management workstream for major strategic projects; provide change management consulting and guidance to project/program leaders

  • Become a subject matter expert for several of the processes owned by the Strategic Processes and Transformation Team. Drive incremental improvement of Sourcing processes and systems

Qualifications - Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Advanced Communications and/or Business Degree preferred

  • Experience leading complex projects

  • Highly effective written and verbal communications, interpersonal communications, and presentation skills. Ability to distill complex concepts into audience-appropriate messaging. Writing sample will be required.

  • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with SharePoint and willingness to achieve expert-level proficiency.

  • Ability to manage priorities and execute projects with minimal direct guidance, able to thrive in an uncertain/ambiguous environment

  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically

  • Strong influence, change management, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Ability to develop relationships at every level of the organization; able to serve as trusted consultant/communications coach to function leaders

  • Excellent organizational skills and mentoring/coaching skills

Qualifications - Desired:

  • Experience in a leadership or SME role in developing complex training programs

  • Experience in Procurement or Supply Chain

  • Expert-level knowledge of SharePoint

  • Extensive change management experience
