The Director Program Delivery provides project management process, tools and support and overall project portfolio quality assurance, communication and controls, and drives the organization to single (best practice) solutions. This individual leads the governance and communication to Executive Management on all projects within the program portfolio and has management responsibility of direct and indirect PM's.
Develop the PMO strategy and goals to define and maintain standards for the project management of key customer and implementation projects using Project Management Institute (PMI) guidelines, Quality standards and Company requirements to implement projects in a manner that introduces economies of repetition and meets the financial expectations established at the project initiation
Development, coaching, program assignment & resource management of program managers supporting the vertical business teams. Assesses team bench strength, skill set and capacity in order to adjust resource plans as needed
Develops, implements, and governs program management processes, tools, templates, policies and metrics.
Definition, implementation, and continuous improvement of program management tools to drive consistency, standardization, and improved capability in key PM areas: customer relationships and satisfaction; program financial responsibility, resource management, risk assessment/mitigation, and scope change management; reporting and systems to support increasingly larger, more complex projects; ensure CDD process expectations are met and lessons learned from projects are applied
Lead the creation and evolution of a quality assurance process to ensure the cohesive project lifecycle, processes, tools and standards are adhered to on all projects across the business
Assess performance; research and develop new capabilities; and systemically apply learning and knowledge to the program
Drive collection and reporting of project information with high accuracy and effectiveness. Design and build reports to provide project portfolio information to Ryder leadership and executive committees. Ensure there are regular reviews, accountability, and that management of projects, stakeholders and customers is in place
Support the sales process, specifically the key business development stakeholders on prospect presentations, data gathering, business requirements definition, solution design, costing, pricing and ultimate delivery of final solution/proposal
Develop and Maintain integrated timelines, and ensure consistency with input from the functional departments and allow transparency to the organization
Establish strategies for the career development of the staff and creating an environment/culture of team play, professional ethics, and focus on our mission
Provide leadership and focus to Project Team members to ensure project focus is correct and work is accomplished on time, within budget, and is of the highest quality
Responsible for developing and coordinating resource planning across functions to assure that adequate resources are being applied to the project
Coordinate compilation of project scope documents and plans
Responsible for the conduct and deliverable of Project Team meetings
Identify project risks with input from the line functions, and support resolving project issues
Rapidly learns and applies new information/concepts in Project Management
Supports business start-ups for medium to large sized programs
Monitors post implementation customer expectations and standards
Interacts with multiple levels including Executive Management within Ryder and Client Organizations
Facilitate excellent customer relationship management and development capability enhancing account retention and ongoing account development
Performs other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
Analytical ability & executive poise to develop domestic and international supply chain management strategies, and proven experience in influencing top levels of leadership and customer management to implement the strategies
Excellent written and oral communications, analytical strengths, and multitask leadership capabilities
Strong executive presence and demeanor
Must be Customer Service oriented
Must possess strong Problem-Solving skills
High moral and character attributes
High-degree of self direction and motivation
Strong Leadership skills evidenced by the ability to manage a geographically dispersed work force
Bachelor's degree required business, logistics or supply chain
Master's degree preferred business, logistics or supply chain
Ten (10) years or more global experience in operations, logistics, transportation and supply chain Management required
Ten (10) years or more management experience (people management) required
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, required upon hire
