Assessment Specialist

The Assessment Specialist will serve as a member of Centerpointe Community Based Services and primarily be tasked with providing assessment services to counties throughout the state of Indiana. The Assessment Specialist is expected to follow through with completing the face-to-face assessments to determine the level of need/care, completing the necessary follow up report and getting the information back to the appropriate referral source in a timely manner. This employee maintains a positive and professional rapport with referral sources, family members, and representatives from other community resources. This employee may also act as a referral source liaison and problem solve concerns as they arise in the field. Works as a salaried or a part-time employee in accordance with established policies as outlined in the employee handbook. The employee in this position is expected to give four weeks notice prior to voluntary resignation. A probationary period of 90 days is required. Qualifications:• Two years experience in assessments, interviewing and/or counseling with a working knowledge of DSM-V diagnoses.• Knowledgeable about children and adolescents with various mental health needs; also knowledgeable about the major systems that serve youth and families, including child welfare, juvenile justice and education.• Must possess good interpersonal skills to work closely with clinical and non-clinical staff, as well as communicating with family members and outside agencies in a professional manner.• Must be able to work variable hours based on the needs of the families that are served.• Must maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license and current car insurance.• Minimum of a Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other Social Service related field. Must be licensed or licensed eligible (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, HSPP).• Minimum 21 years of age.Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:• Geographical knowledge of Indiana’s 92 counties and surrounding states.• Knowledgeable of basic clinical principles related to treatment programs.• Effective oral and written communications skills.• Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.• Ability to use good judgment and to maintain confidentiality of information.• Ability to work as a team player.• Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience and dedication.• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.• Good knowledge of PC operations and software with efficient typing skills.• Attention to detail and accuracy.
