The Role

Principal Solution Architect – Finance, is responsible for design of the end-to-end solution template and functional architecture in alignment with the industry leading practices, drives solution standardization to meet the new business capabilities for Lumen’s long term growth. Works closely with Business, Solution and Product Management teams, Technical Product Owners, Functional Analysts and Architects to assist in definition of Solution / Product vision and roadmap. This role will lead the Lumen Finance IT team in modernizing the ERP footprint at Lumen. A broader understanding of Finance application ecosystem is very crucial to be successful in this role.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business and IT stakeholders to fully understand the requirements, pain points and areas of improvements, and to enable effective and suitable technology solutions.

  • Drives E2E Business Process modeling and fit/gap analysis of the technology solutions to determine a need for customization and enhancements (RICEFW objects).

  • Suggests alternative solution to customizations to drive standardization where possible.

  • Require specialized experience in SAP software in different industries with an ability to talk across the entire solution portfolio.

  • Assists with the identification of cross-functional and cross-team dependencies, drives critical design decisions to closure and helps develop cohesive integrated solution.

  • Provides guidance to the teams on end-to-end solution components, with appropriate Quality Assurance and Governance.

  • Drives definition of the Feature Integration E2E test scenarios.

  • Assists with creation of the Solution backlog (Capabilities, Features).

  • Reviews and helps to address the impediments and resolve Risks.

  • Participates in Program Ceremonies, including Program Increment Planning and Backlog grooming.

  • Proven ability to deliver results in a matrix organization (leveraging multiple functions and teams).

  • Experience leading or developing high quality, enterprise scale software products using a structured system development life cycle.

  • Will work closely work with the project manager, project team, and consultants to design and evaluate feasibility of proposed solutions in the context of project budget, risk and timelines.

  • Provides overall direction, guidance, and definition of IT architecture to effectively support the corporate business strategy in Business, Application, Data and Technical Architecture.

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Experience and deep knowledge of SAP systems (SAP Central Finance, S/4HANA, RAR, BRIM etc.)

  • Experience working on US GAAP and IFRS accounting

  • Exposure/Experience in Agile methodology

  • 15+ years of experience architecting complex SAP solutions across multiple industries in finance function

  • Certification in SAP FICO is preferred

  • Business experience across Finance, Accounting, Project Systems, Tax and Treasury functions

Salary Range

Salary Min $112680 Salary Max $250560

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
