Job Description

This position is responsible for the coordination of all maintenance activity in the plant. Plans and supervises the daily maintenance, modification, installation and repairs of plant machinery and equipment, buildings, facilities and service lines for all three shifts.

Required Skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for central crib personnel.

  • Devises and implements preventative maintenance programs to support production objectives.

  • Investigates the installation of machinery and equipment and ensures adherence of any safety guards or features.

  • Assists engineering personnel in planning and implementing the alteration of equipment and machinery to comply with safety and production.

  • Attend and hold meetings on maintenance problems, their direction and results. This encompasses safety, OSHA compliance; EPA compliance, housekeeping, etc.

  • Obtain pertinent information regarding specific requirements of all work orders, verbal or written.

  • Review all maintenance personnel concerning their progress, capabilities, and potential, along with interviewing potential maintenance personnel.

  • Recommends parts needed for crib stock and coordinate activities in supply crib

  • Directs and trains maintenance personnel regarding fire fighting and assists with fire prevention.

  • Total responsibility for maintaining the plant’s preventative maintenance program.

  • Serves as the plant Emergency Response Coordinator

  • Conform with Tenneco’s Environmental, Safety & Health Management System policy.

  • Responsible for Maintenance Apprenticeship Program.

Required Experience

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma required. Additional education preferred.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-4 years electrical, hydraulic and general maintenance experience.

  • 2 years supervisory experience desired.

  • Maintains department work files.

  • Position has the responsibility and authority for quality commensurate with the accountability of the job description.
