Under a Registered Occupational Therapist's supervision, plans, and carries out programs of purposeful activity designed to assist in the rehabilitation of psychiatric, orthopedic, neurological, pediatric, surgical or cardiac patients as prescribed by the physician; bases selection of activities on the physician's prescription, history, experience and interests of the patient; plans and directs special diversional, educational or social events for patients as applicable in the rehabilitation of psychiatric patients.

Must be a graduate of an Occupational Therapy Associate Degree program from the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Must be certified as Occupational Therapy Assistant, to practice in the state of Indiana, or be eligible for licensure. Must be certified in CPR by American Heart or American Red Cross; or must become certified within first three months of employment.
