This position will:Work closely with the Director of CELT, faculty, and staff to provide faculty development in support of faculty roles such as teaching, writing, researching, and serviceAssist the Director in consulting with deans, chairs, and others across campus to determine CELT programming needsDevelop, coordinate, and conduct workshops sequences about teaching and learning for departments and unitsDevelop, coordinate, and conduct individual workshops and other training/professional development programs about teaching and learning in response to campus needsProvide consultation to faculty and departments on teaching, educational research, assessment and other topicsResearch and provide recommendations on existing and emerging instructional technologies to the Director, faculty, departments, and ITSAct as principal investigator or co-investigator for research projects related to teaching, learning, or program evaluationBe responsible for CELT when Director is awayTeach one course per year (between 1-3 credit hours) for EDUCCoordinate and teach "Learning to Teach Online" to faculty at least once per yearParticipate in relevant CELT and campus wide committeesProvide consultation to projects in support of institutional initiativesMake budget recommends to the DirectorParticipate in relevant CELT and campus wide committeesIdentify grant opportunities relevant to CELT's mission and with DirectorWith input from the CELT Director and other relevant units, plan, coordinate, and conduct activities in support of a variety of aspects of faculty academic roles beyond teaching such as writing, service, research, and grant writingOther duties as assignedRequired:Master's degree in educational psychology, instructional design and technology, curriculum and instruction, or related fieldThree years relevant experience, comprising two or more of the following: (1) Designing, implementing, and managing faculty development projects in a higher education setting; (2) Training and consulting with college faculty on developing and delivering course and/or program development, teaching strategies, course design and development, and/or assessment; and/or (3) Conducting education researchIn addition, candidates must demonstrate: (a) one year of experience teaching at the college level (may be concurrent), and (b) one year of experience in using a course management systemKnowledge of educational research methodsKnowledge of learning theories, instructional theories, best teaching practices (traditional, hybrid, and online), instructional design theory and practice, and best practices in consultingKnowledge of educational technologiesExcellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skillsAbility to develop and implement surveys, observations, and other evaluation strategiesAbility to design, develop, deliver and evaluate trainingMust have a valid driver's license and remain in compliance with the Purdue University Motor Vehicle Records PolicyPreferred:ABD or PhDAbility to develop and administer budgetsAdditional Information:Review of applications will begin immediately.For highest consideration, submit a cover letter, resume, and contact information for three professional references.A check of criminal conviction records and motor vehicle records (MVR) will be made for employment in this position.
