The Reporting Analyst role has a primary focus on report development and support. In addition to the primary responsibilities the Reporting Analyst will have a progressive emphasis on process improvement and project management. Under the direction of Manager and Director, will also be responsible for various ad hoc analysis and reporting upon request.
Job Summary: 1. Report Generation - Update / distribute daily operations report- Development of reporting tools to support business requirements - Create dashboard reports using commercial reporting software- Communicate / present data to all levels of management- Identify and implement opportunities to improve existing report distribution process for assigned reports
Develop Operational Reporting - Assist with identification and documentation of new report requirements- Development of reporting tools to support business requirements - Create dashboard reports using commercial reporting software- Communicate / present data to all levels of management- Document and maintain detailed report specifications for all assigned reports- Assist in the acquisition and loading of all data into reporting repository
Project Management - Manage all outstanding requests to ensure all projects are completed on time- Provide regular updates to keep end users informed of progress and issues- Manage special projects as assigned, incorporating standard project management methodologies.
BusinessTrend/ Analysis - Include data analysis tools (charts, graphs, pivot tables, etc.) as appropriate to facilitate end user data analysis - Ensure that datasets are appropriate for business needs.- Evaluate performance against corporate plans - Validate that reports measure desired business metrics
Other - Troubleshoot software complications- Perform updates on SSRS and Business Objects software- Ensure communication between IT and Operations
- This position will support a federal government contract. Applicants must be able to obtain Public Trust security clearance as required of federal government contractors to include a background check conducted by the U.S. Government to determine eligibility and suitability for federal contract employment for public trust or sensitive positions. For this level of clearance, applicants must possess U.S. citizenship- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Project Management, Mathematics, Business Analysis or Statistics (additional equivalent experience above the required minimum maybe substitutes for the degree)- 2-3 years reporting experience with the demonstrated ability to create and generate reports using applicable business systems that accurately and efficiently reflect business results. trends, issues and compliance. (additional equivalent education above the required minimum maybe substituted for experience)- 2-3 years working experience with SAS and/or SQL through platforms such as PC SAS, Enterprise Guide or Toad for Business Analysts- Working experience using Off-the-Shelf or custom reporting tools such as Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Cognos, Microsoft Access, Brio- Proven experience analyzing reports and generating conclusions and recommendations for the business areas- Proven ability to compile and present data for the business areas that address specific process related questions or issues- Strong working knowledge of student lending and/or consumer lending industry including call centers- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Exposure to or experience of the products and services in use at Navient- Experience working and maneuvering through mainframe “green screen” environments- Experience with Service Desk or other problem/change tracking tools- Experience with Microsoft Project- Experience with SSIS/SSRS - Procedural analysis- Information engineering/Data mapping- Exposure to file transfer protocols including FTP, SFTP and MS Dos - Ability to work independently to consistently meet expected deadlines in a time-sensitive environment- Ability to identify, analyze, resolve and/or elevate issues using sound business judgment- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
