CNO Financial Group Financial Analyst in Carmel, Indiana

CNO Financial Group, headquartered in Carmel, IN, is actively seeking a Financial Analyst to join our FP&A Team.

The Financial Analyst is a key contributor in the Financial Planning & Analysis function for CNO. The Financial Analyst will perform in general expense analysis and reporting, month end close GAAP and Statutory accounting and reporting, budgeting, data analysis, documentation and financial systems maintenance and usage. This is a highly visible position that interacts with many levels of management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly budget to actual expense analysis with meaningful commentary

  • Prepare and post accruals and other general ledger adjustments related to expenses

  • Prepare quarterly GAAP and STAT reporting and commentary

  • Understand, extract and transform data from various key financial systems and tools such as Hyperion, Essbase, Concur, Business Objects and Microsoft suite

  • Assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting process for shared service functions

  • Develop and execute other key monthly and quarterly financial reports and process

  • Maintain and update documentation for key Financial Planning and Analysis processes

  • Ad hoc financial analysis, reconciliation, and problem solving as needed to support the business

Cores Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Monthly and Quarterly Expense Reporting

  • Month end close activities related to expenses

  • Support the aggregation of budgets and forecasts including completion of reports and presentations

  • Ad-hoc financial analysis needed to support the business and audits

Requirements for Success:

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required

  • CPA or CPA Candidate preferred

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Tableau and/or Alteryx experience preferred

  • Knowledge of Hyperion, Essbase and other data housing and extraction tools preferred

  • Knowledge of GAAP/STAT accounting principles preferred

  • Strong oral and written skills preferred

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

  • Detail-oriented and self starter
