About our Inspection Facility

A premier experience begins with a great product, and the team members at our Elkhart Inspection Facility play a crucial role in our operations by ensuring General RV customers receive the highest quality RVs. The Inspection Facility serves as a check point where new units are received from manufacturers to undergo inspection and rigorous testing before continuing on to dealerships.


This role provides organization support to the ordering, distribution, care, and maintenance of all tools. Additionally, the role is responsible for supporting compliance with Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), including but not limited to cans of materials with a propellant that must be disposed of through a puncture and collapse process. The will also manage the Lock Out, Tag Out process for the organization.

  • Order and maintain and issue adequate inventories of hand tools and equipment

  • Maintain records of issuance

  • Maintain service, maintenance, and warranty records for all tools and equipment

  • Prepares and monitors periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment

  • Receives, unpacks, setup and test, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory

  • Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear, visually or using gauges and measurement devices, and records damage

  • Repairs, services, and lubricates tools and equipment, using hand tools and spray guns

  • May deliver tools and/or equipment to workers

  • Mark/tag all tools and equipment with their inventory position

  • Minimum of High School diploma required

  • At least 3-5 year’s auto parts, mechanical experience, warehousing or a combination

  • Competent with inventory management skills

  • Organized with 5S experience

  • Computer proficiency

  • Proficient with small tool repair

  • Strong mechanical skills

  • Proficient working independently a majority of the time

  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing demands

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Attention to details

  • Excellent attendance
